Like all seasons, Spring has its own, exclusive twist on fashion. Autumn brings out the burgundy and auburn side to us, but Spring is different. Some may stick to wearing virgin colours; white, yellow and any other pastels. Whereas some prefer the bright palette with patterns, the ‘paisley’ pattern being a trend this year.
For me, it has to be pastels. Mainly white and pink and anything bardot style. This style is so complimentary to absolutely anyone. Plain bardot tops accentuate a woman’s shoulders, bone structure and patterned tops give a great focal point. To compliment a bardot style top, I’d go for high waisted wide leg trousers. They add a touch of sophistication to the look.
Paris fashion week flaunted many wide leg looks for Spring/Summer collections. For an evening Spring look, I would always choose lace. Classy, elegant and sharp. Whether you select a lace dress or just a simple lace accessory, it will never disappoint. Black lace in the evening is a real eye catcher.
Wearing lace has both advantages and disadvantages. The runways makes it look easy. Strutting in tight clothing, especially in stilettos, is not as easy as it looks. If you desire a feminine, princess-like look, lace is perfect and will never go out of fashion. However, it is not the most comfortable and sometimes extremely hard to put on. I fell in love with lace in 2015 when I chose my prom dress to be made entirely from lace. The tight fitting was not the most comfortable, but the elegance was worth some slight discomfort.
