Social media influencers have introduced the trending hashtag, #Sunseteyeshadow, via Youtube and Instagram. By blending pink, orange and aqua tones, they’ve shown us that mixing warm and cool tones can work for anyone. Some have really ventured out and added a flick of graphic liner and fluttery mink lashes.
One of my favourite makeup bloggers, Stephanie Lange, uploaded a video of her sunset eye and popping highlight recreation. She uses only Inglot eyeshadows of purple, orange and pink tones to create her sunset eye makeup tutorial. Personally, I’d use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette to create the look as it includes all the colours needed, a brush and is extremely blendable for beginners!
3 ways to create a unique sunset eye;
1. Splash of aqua.
Why not add some aqua to your sunset? If your eyes are tinted hazel, blue can be the perfect match for enhancing your eyes. Youtube makeup influencer, Alyssa Edmunds, added a bold blue wing to her video showing her subscribers how to create a perfect summer eye.
2. Graphic liner.
Adding graphic liner to any look gives it an edgy look. This smokey golden pink eye pairs perfectly with white liner. Anna Sui’s fall/winter show showed that an electric graphic liner can spice up any outfit. Its the modern cat eye!
3. Add some glitter.
A glittery sun set eye can be adapted to a romantic, night time look or even a youthful, sparkly festival look. For a date night look, personally I would choose a rose gold glitter to add to the warmth of the eye. However, a festival look can be as extravagant as ever. Even adding glitter down the cheeks, collar bones, or using it as highlighter can work!
These three styles are just the beginning of adapting sun set eyeshadow looks to suit and express your personality. Don’t forget you can add these styles to any eye look – cat eye, nude eye or a 60’s vibe eye. Theres no limit when it comes to makeup, I think 2017 will prove that.
